Do you feel like you’re constantly in between buttons?  You don’t want to look like you’re at work, but you don’t want to look all sexy — just casual. If so, we’ve got the perfect gadget! Introducing the Casual Collar! A metal device that lays under your collar to keep your shirt closed the perfect amount without depending on all your buttons. The Casual Collar gives you the ability to unbutton the first buttons on your shirt without the shirt flying open, so you can wear a casual look and not have to worry about coming across as unprofessional.

Casual Collar was designed in an effort to solve a problem that has bothered me for years. I buy dress shirts that look good for work with the first button buttoned, but when I got ready to go out at night, having that button buttoned didn’t have the casual look I was going for. Unbuttoning the button looked good in the mirror but, an hour into the evening, the collar had spread and it looked terrible! Many times, I buttoned the first button during the evening because it looked so bad.  Another problem was when wearing a sport jacket. My collar would invariably slip under the lapel of the jacket, giving a terrible impression.

Magnets and metal collar stays handled that problem well but, if I took the jacket off, I still had the open collar issue. If only there was a way to keep the collar from spreading open so I could leave that first button open.

I experimented with several designs and approaches. I wanted it to be easy to use with any shirt and it had to be so comfortable that I could scarcely tell I was wearing it. If the collar looked wonky in any way, it wouldn’t work. I didn’t want to draw attention to it. The design I settled on does all of those things very effectively, on virtually any shirt. People ask me all the time now, “What kind of shirt is that?  I really like it.” When I tell them why they like it, they always agree. It’s because it looks so casual, yet stylish and professional, with the button open.

When testing the product, I noticed that a “one size fits all” approach wouldn’t be effective because, even though I’m a 15.5 neck, my collar tips vary quite a bit based on the style of the shirt. I have straight collars, spread collars and cutaway collars and each require a Casual Collar of a different length. That’s why you have the option to choose which Casual Collar you’d like based on the collar type you wear the most. There is a Casual Collar for each type of collar, according to your shirt size. I experimented with plastic, but found that stainless steel had the durability and flexibility needed for this type of collar. I tested dozens of magnets and decided that this size gives a little more flexibility to connect with the collar stay. Using all-steel construction and screws ensures that your collar will likely last forever. That’s why it has a lifetime guarantee. If it ever comes apart on you, send it back and we’ll replace it.

I hope you enjoy this collar as much as I and my friends have. You’re going to be amazed at how easy it is to now achieve that casual look you’ve been looking for!

Sincerely,
The Creator of Casual Collar
